Sincere Appreciation of Customers

An often ignored reason on why many small businesses generate many referrals is how these small businesses treat their customers as human beings outside a business context. Although sending new customers promotional offers can be very effective in generating revenue, one can not over look expressing genuine appreciation to first customers especially first-time customers. For example, sending a thank you card to first time customers is excellent way to show appreciation.

This is when you express appreciation without an agenda. No offers, no promotions, no fancy logos or brochures, just a simple thank you because you want to say thank you. You truly appreciate the customer deciding to do business with you. When customers truly feel appreciated, they will often send many referrals without being asked for them.
